This copy is bright, white and square. There is a small label of the issuing Bookseller to the foot of the rear paste down. There is a gift inscription to the f.e.…p dated 1921 and another dated 1974. A dust wrapper is not called for. Illustrated with seventy five colour plates by Wilfrid Ball each with a captioned tissue guard. International postal rates are calculated on a book weighing 1 Kilo, in cases where the book weighs more than 1 Kilo increased postal rates will be quoted, where the book weighs less then postage will be reduced accordingly. Reverend Telford Varley (1866-1938) was an educator, historian, and clergyman. He was the first headmaster of Peter Symonds School in Winchester, serving from 1897 to 1926. During his tenure, he wrote and contributed to popular local histories and was ordained as a priest in 1908.
