Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. Rosemary Emerson (illustrator). 3rd Edition. Delightful book detailing the intimate observations of the author as he explores the natural history of the Colorado Rockies. Lovely little stories of, mostly, the wild animals looked at in such a way as to reveal their individual personalities (or should that be animalalities?). Illustrated with drawings - chapter headings, and cute little sketches decorating the margins throughout the book. Signed by the author on front endpaper (just "With best wishes Will C. Minor"). First published in 1950 with a second edition in 1959, both printings of 2500 copies. This is the third edition of 2000 copies. Bookseller's label on front pastedown, slight browning to edges, but a near fine copy in a pretty shabby dust jacket. Worn, browned, chipped on edges, the front flap is all but separated from the front panel, and the lower half of the spine panel is torn. Still, it's basically complete and looks OK behind the acetate. Signed by Author(s).
