ABOUT: A Scrapbook of Antique Motorscooters and Motor Bikes by William (Willard) Larson is a spiral?bound, ~110?page visual compilation of reproduced vintage advertisements, photos, and promotional materials documenting early American and European motorscooters and small motorbikes. It functions less like a narrative book and more like a collector's reference scrapbook, assembling hard?to-find ephemera from the 1930s-1960s. What the scrapbook contains Reproduced period ads and catalog pages for dozens of obscure and mainstream marques. Extensive Whizzer coverage, with several pages devoted to Whizzer motorbikes and accessories. Mustang, Powell, and other small?displacement American scooters, presented through original marketing materials rather than modern commentary. Rare brands such as Wysecycle, whose surviving documentation is extremely limited; the AMCA forum confirms that Larson's scrapbook is one of the few published sources containing Wysecycle images. Over 100 pages of reproduced ads, assembled by Larson from private collections and period sources. Purpose and value Serves as a visual archive for collectors, restorers, and historians of early scooters and motorbikes. Useful for identification of parts, models, and period-correct details. Acts as a reference companion to Whizzer and other small?bike histories; it is often sold bundled with Whizzer manuals in auction lots. Particularly valuable because many of the brands represented?Wysecycle, Powell, Mustang?have little surviving photographic documentation.
