Volume 1's leather is a slightly darker red than volume 2's. Both are in fine condition, externally flawless with clean, crisp pages and tight binding. The gilt edges are shiny and smooth. The only sign of previus ownership is a faintly visible, erased pencil notation on both volumes' first blank pages. Ideal for gifting!
