Condition: VERY GOOD. First printing. His rather hard-to-find first crime novel - praise on the dust jacket from Dennis Wheatley who called this a "most unusual and very exciting story." Since Wheatley was the author's step-father this might not have been an impartial comment. (Hubin 296) Very good in red cloth in a good dust jacket with some rubbing, and short tears. Original price of 12s, 6d still present.
