While his account provides an open window to the hopes, dreams and fears of one Confederate enlisted man, it also chronicles nearly the entire history of his company and regiment through three years of daily life in camp, on the march and in battles fought in Mississippi, Georgia and Alabama. After serving in the Virginia State Militia during the American Revolution, Norvell Robertson migrated to Georgia and arrived in Mississippi circa 1818 initially residing near Pineville but later moving north of Old Williamsburg. Robertson children and further descendants resided in the Mississippi counties of Covington, Lawrence, Smith, Carroll, Clarke, and elsewhere.

Dust Jacket has excellent even color and no nicks or tears, but does have a small water stain on front panel, and has now been covered with a mylar sleeve. A solid attractive copy.
