With a Biographical Memoir by William Eagle Clarke(1853-1938) who completed Mr. Ramsay's (1852-1921)'s script after his sudden death, with a handwritten letter by Clarke to the famous UK Ornithologist, Hugh Whistler (1889-1943) who was asked to review the book. Pasted inside the front cover is Whistler's name and Coat of Arms. Mr Clarke's letter to Hugh Whistler is also pasted into the gutter. There are some neat notes, underlinings, and corrections (all in pencil) made by Whistler on pages 70,81, 94, 142 and 305. Whistler, author of several books including POPULAR HANDBOOK OF INDIAN BIRDS (1928) left a collections of 17000 birds to the British Museum. Green cloth covered hardcover, corners bumped and cover worn due to field usage by Whistler, otherwise sound and tight. 355 pages with index. A rare association copy.…
