Williams describes the discrimination that he faced first in the Negro Leagues, then in San Antonio in 1959 as he began his minor league career, and the difficulties that Jackie Robinson, Larry Doby, Minnie Minoso had as they broke new ground against the color barrier. He also describes what is like to be a black baseball star in Chicago during his career. Both the non price clipped Dust Jacket and the book are in very good condition. I have more than 200 baseball biographies, around 190 publications on the Negro Leagues and Black Sports and 180 items on the Hall of Fame and its members in stock.
