Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Two perfectly serviceable reference copies; nothing fancy, but complete and sturdy. The West Africa volume was published in 1977 as a stated First Edition. It is an attractive, tightly bound hardcover but for slight cracking to rear joint at bottom, clean, unmarked interior but for previous owner's address label and ink stamp opposite title page, thus shadowed opposite. Minimal rubbing to extremities, a bit of torque to spine, light soiling along two edges, else colorful and tank-like. 515 species illustrated, 335 in full color from the photographs by Wolfgang Hartwig; [6] 7-351 pp.; notes, bibliography and index. The East Africa volume is a 1981 reprint of the 1980 second edition of the first edition of 1963. Near Fine of condition, less rubbed and soiled, still bright and unmarked of interior, but for previous owner's address label inside front flap. 48 new colour plates, with over 650 illustrations altogether.
