Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. First UK edition hardback with dust jacket in protective archival cover. The Pulitzer Prize Play of 1955. Blue boards with silver lettering on the spine. Some minor chipping, age toning etc to dust jacket, generally very good. 197pp with frontis sket…ch of stage setting for the New York production by Jo Mielziner and author's portrait on inner rear flap of dust jacket. Previous owner's name on front free endpaper. Some minor foxing to page edges. A powerful play dealing with the emotional lies, greed and anguish as a Southern family gather round their dying father. Many themes emerge, some of which, such as homosexuality, were effectively removed from the film production, which Williams disliked. This play was ground breaking at the time and a fine example of theatre confronting entrenched societal attitudes.
