Sawyer is a small town in Pratt County Kansas. Population in 1940 was 239, in 2000 it was 124. This cook book was a collection of recipes from church members and the local community to raise funds for church purposes. The book is full of recipes (many duplicates from different submitters), advertisements from local and near by businesses, cooking tips, and kitchen tips. A presentable piece of history from early Kansas.

Woman's silhouette bust cut from black paper and adhered to front panel. Faint adhesive reside and small dark spot to front panel, some very faint yellowing overall. When opened at front top fold, 2 interior panels show mimeographed program notes for a Mother's Day performance by the Willing Workers, a charitable women's group meeting at the Free Baptist Church. Though text is somewhat faded, most remains legible, listing the cast of the play ("My Hours of Memory in Song"), musical soloists, and other contributors. When fully opened, verso is blank.
