WITH NINE BLACK AND WHITE PLATES, AND NUMEROUS VERY ATTRACTIVE ILLUSTRATIONS INSET INTO TEXT. THE WRAPPER, WHICH IS NOW PROTECTED BY A REMOVABLE ARCHIVAL COVER, IS WHOLE AND INTACT WITHOUT ANY TEARS OR NICKS HAS STAIN LINES ON THE BACK COVER AND ON THE FOLD OVER SECTIONS. BUT FOR THESE STAINS/LINES THE BOOK WOULD BE RATED VERY GOOD. TONING TO PRELIMS AND ENDPAPERS, AND FOXING TO PAGE BLOCK. OTHERWISE THE PAGES ARE CLEAN, CLEAR AND UNMARKED. OVERALL AN ATTRACTIVE AND CHARMING BOOK IN VERY GOOD MINUS CONDITION AND PRICED ACCORDINGLY.

Hardcover. Condition: Good. Red boards with gilt lettering on the spine and upon front cover. Edges of boards are moderately thumbed and rubbed, with the occasional scuff mark on front, back and spine. Head and tail of spine bumped, head corners also bumped bear some light wear and tear. Binding is strong and tidy. Previous bookseller's stamp on verso front free endpaper, along biro marks. Free endpapers, pastedowns, title pages and most pages throughout bear some discolouration. Light foxing of the occasional page. Page edges are moderately discoloured, particularly at the head edge. Otherwise this book is in good condition. *We always describe the faults of our books meticulously; they usually present better than they sound.
