This was the 33rd annual of the classic British automotive publication, The Motor Manual, produced in association with the popular periodical "The Motor." The book is: "A practical handbook dealing with the working principles, construction, maintenance and economical running of the motorcar, together with a chapter on the law as it affects the motorist." The edition appeared "at a time when motoring in Great Britain is still going through a period of difficulty and disturbance owing to the present restricted supplies of petrol, which, for most owners, means their annual milage is limited." Undated but probably late 1940s as it notes that a new edition of the road code was issued in 1947. 256 pages plus five page index, illustrated throughout with b/w photos, technical drawings, including cut-aways, diagrams, plans, tables and graphs, fold out at front for "Tracing Engine Troubles" with illustrations, motor car chassis with motor on verso, some motor related adverts and front/back. Light orange hard covers with red/black titles front, black title spine, spark plug advert back are G+, FFEP has faint ink name at top, stain centre vertical edge, internally the book is better than G+, with some marks rear pastedown. Colour DJ is grubby on spine, worn through top third front flap fold, also top front spine hinge, few other chips tears to edges, water stains on reverse.
