Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. A small archive of eight photographs measuring around 8" x 10" taken by Philadelphia photojournalist Bill Wingell in the 1960s and 1970s. All items very good or better with curling and slight spotting on the edges. The collection shows Wingell's press photography including images of protests, gatherings, a prisoner release, and police. One photo shows police officers writing tickets above protesters laying in the street. One photo shows a seated Vo Thanh-Minh, a Vietnamese scholar who, according to a New Yorker article at the time, "preached a philosophy of non-violence while living in an automobile." Two of the photos are from the 1971 May Day Protests in Washington D.C. Many of the images include notes and photographers stamps on the verso. An interesting collection of press photography from a photojournalist in the 1960s and early 1970s.
