Publisher's black cloth lettered in gilt to spine, typographic dust jacket designed by Craig Dodd. Light spotting and toning to edges of textblock, rolling to crown of spine, jacket price clipped. Very good. Wolfe's book charts the lives of the astronauts working on post-war space travel, and thinks about the way in which these people, who were so controlled by the systems around them, managed to assert control over situations they found themselves in. Wolfe also thinks about the ways in which their personal lives were implicated, and portrays how their families were forced to suddenly become public figures.
