Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Very Good+. Near Fine dj. First Edition Thus. [modest wear to book, small tear in fore-edge of first text page; jacket shows only minor wear at edges and extremities]. (Readers Library, no. 204) Series British version of a "photoplay edition," in a small format (about the size of a mass market paperback). A… novelization of the Paramount historical adventure film OLD IRONSIDES, which was released in the U.S. in 1926, this particular edition -- for whatever reason -- does NOT contain any bound-in stills, nor does the jacket art specifically reference the movie (except for the words "Paramount Picture"); internally, the film is mentioned only briefly, in the last paragraph of the "Editor's Note." On the plus side, though, it's a nicer than usually seen copy (especially the jacket), given the very cheap production values of these Readers Library editions. (NOTE that this has been tagged as no. 204 in the Readers Library series, but that this number does not appear anywhere on the book or jacket; it was obtained from the Arnie Davis bibliography of photoplay editions.). Illustrated by (dj) Dudley Tennant (illustrator).
