Soft cover. Condition: Fine. No place [Ravenna, KY], quarto, 97pp, stiff printed yellow wraps with black titles, spiral-bound, exceptionally clean and bright, inside and out. See Coleman's Bibliography of KY History, and Coulter 489, "Captain Wright's book is one of the best of the regimental histories. Written fifteen years aft…er the close of the Civil War, it is temperate and, since it was composed from the author's diary, is reliable and worthwhile. This work contains many interesting comments on the population of Middle Tennessee, especially on the Confederate and Union elements and the slaves. This may be accepted as a fair account by an officer who was not influenced by a burning hatred of the Confederates and whose latter feelings, mellowed by time, were even milder." Very scarce.
