Mass Market Paperback. Unpaginated softbound, a 6x8 inch oblong having curiously minimalist publishing information; following a barren title- and copyright-leaf all the rest are gotten up as photographic postcards to be sent to candidate RFK: verso provided with postcard layout, recto the b&w photojournal image with joke-balloon. Mild edgewear, one corner-tip fractionally turned, slight general toning, a sound clean unmarked copy. Possibly an anti-Kennedy hit piece; note the heartless 1964 timing, less than one year after the public execution of his brother. P.S. 1 - Bantam Special #1. FYI, the flimsy paperstock could not be sent through US mails, it would crumple quickly.

"From the blockbuster HBO Series comes the ultimate guide to entertaining for every occasion." - from the rear outer cover. ".Now comes the ultimate guide to making every event the perfect occassion, served up by the Garden State's most gracious hostess, Carmela Soprano. From graduation parties to holiday gatherings to poolside barbecues, Carmela gives you everything you need to keep your personal crew as happy as a clam in red sauce: over 75 delicious new Neapolitan-based recipes as well as scores of Soprano-approved tips on picking the ideal location, choosing tasteful decorations, whipping up the best drinks, and selecting the right music. Sweetening the festa are dozens of never-seen illustrations and insightful commentaries from Soprano relatives and intimates. You'll find "AJ" Soprano's confirmation invitation, advice on "party anxiety" from therapist Dr. Jennifer Melfi, a term paper by Meadow Soprano on "Why My Grandmother Can't Cook," advice from family friend Paulie Walnuts on throwing a surprise party, and much, much more. Unsure about wine? Follow the advice of Artie Bucco, proprietor of the renowned Nuovo Vesuvio restaurant in Newark, New Jersey: "If you have steak, a 'big' meat dish, think of a 'big' red wine like a California Burgundy. I guess you could match it with a big white wine, too, but I don't know of any big white wines." Want to surprise with a birthday gift? Model yours after what Carmela plans on giving her husband, waste management executive Tony Soprano, on his fiftieth: a Dean Martin impersonator, and outdoor screening of his favorite film, The Public Enemy, starring James Cagney, and a monogrammed putter. (But no ritzy watch. He has a dozen of them.) Planning a wedding? Find inspiration in the vision of Carmela's sister-in-law, Janice Soprano Baccilierie: "As guests enter a cathedral of pines, they would pass an ancient wishing well where they could deposit small presents or deep thoughts about life and love. Ideally, I would love for the whole ceremony to be done in the nude, but unfortunately, the time for that kind of pagan openness has long passed." Flustered by funerals? Heed the wise suggestions for his own wake from Tony's Uncle Corrado "Junior" Soprano: "A lot of food, no crap, a lot of homemade Bucassi vino, a nice speech from Bobby Bacala, since he was always the nicest to me of all those bums, and me singing like Caruso on the Victrola." In Carmela's words: "What's closer to a celebration of life than celebrations? Look for them, jump into them, charger plates and all, and have a ball." - excerpt from the inner front and rear jacket flaps.

As new condition blue boards, gold spine, and blue spine lettering contained in an as new condition price-clipped color photographic dust jacket. Includes Editors'/Authors' Dedication; Preliminary Page Quote; Foreword: What Is the Spirit of Notre Dame? by Regis Philbin; Preface: Love Thee, Notre Dame; Afterword: Notre Dame, Our Mother by Rev. John I. Jenkins, C.S.C.; Afterword: The Spirt of Notre Dame Is. by Rev. Theodore M. Hesburgh, C.S.C.; Acknowledgments and Notes. "Notre Dame is the Golden Dome, the Victory March, the Basilica, the Grotto, playing fields, dorms, chapels, the library, classrooms, and research centers. But most of all, it is people: from faith-filled visionaries and world-renowwned scholars to celebrated coaches and athletes to professors, students, janitors and cooks to volunteers and friends. From the university's bold founder, Rev. Edward Sorin, to American legends of the football field (and silver screen) Knute Rockne, the Gipper, and Rudy Ruettinger, Notre Dame is the setting for some of our culture's most uplifting stories of perseverance in the face of tremendious odds. The Spirt of Notre Dame tells these stories and more .of miraculous athletic comebacks and incredible victories against the odds, of the Notre Dame graduate who survived the Bataan Death March by focusing on the university; of football stars like Chris Zorich who overcame tough circumstances, and of walk-on players who realized their dreams of playing for the Fighting Irish. Included in these pages are stories of the women's teams who have won national championships in basketball and soccer; dedicated leaders such as Fathers Corby, Hesburgh, and Malloy; professors Frank O'Malley, Emil T. Hofman, and a line of great teachers whose blood is in the bricks; coaches Leahy, Parseghian, Holtz, Willingham, and McGraw; and a host of graduates like Dr. Tom Deeley and Judge Ann Williams who have devoted themselves to serving others both on the campus and in the world. Engaging, amusing, and inspiring, The Spirit of Notre Dame is the absolutely essential title for the millions of people who have a place in the heart for the Fighting Irish." - from the inner front jacket flap.
