An invaluable, comprehensive and minutely detailed guide to the history and architecture of London, the Encyclopaedia has never been out of print. Benjamin Weinreb (1912-99), was a British bookseller and expert on the history of London. He developed a specialism in books about architecture about which his catalogues became important references in themselves. Christopher Hibbert (1924-2008), was a historian and author.
