Hardcover. Condition: Very good- condition. First Edition. 18 pages of text, followed by 24 plates, each with an expanatory leaf of text. Followed by an advertising leaf for part 2 which was never published. Original hardcover binding is heavily sunned on the spine, with two minor spots of staining, and with a large chip to the top, with the title remaining clearly visible and intact; protected in archival mylar. The text and plates are moderately foxed, and the pages are shaken, remaining attached by loosened. Sabin 103094; Field 1701. The first book in a projected series of views of the natives and the country. Contains the first printing in America of John White's illustrations of North American Indians, the first drawings ever done of these natives. First edition. Size: Octavo (8vo). Book.
