Hardcover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. Hardcover with red cloth over boards, gold lettering across front cover and black lettering across spine. Spine discolored, a little less than half a shade darker than covers. Corners bumped, fraying slightly. Overall neat. Title page dated 1916. No separate copyright page. 388 pages, followed by about 20 pages of ads. Ads are glossy and untoned, printed on different paper than the body of the text. Plates are clean and glossy. Title, half title page, and appendix are foxed over their full surface. All other pages are clean, lightly and evenly toned. Former owner's name written neatly on half title page. Binding is shallowly cracked along front gutter and at center of text. Back gutter has previously been repaired with binding tape. No loose pages. Overall neat and secure. Red cloth covers with gilt lettering and anchor design on front cover. Wear to corners and spine ends with some minor damage to top of spine. Small split in cloth at top of spine joint on front cover. Paper on both inner hinges is completely split but covers are firmly attached and binding is sound. Plate at page 161 is a little loose. Spine is faded and covers and spine are marked. Half-title page is darkened. Pages and plates are clean. Contents include: Part I - Influence of British Navy upon the Course of the War, German, Russian, Italian, Japanese and French Navies in the War, Aircraft and Airships, Naval Engineering.
