'Here are twelve sparkling stories rooted in Tyneside, but with a blend of magic, lively country humour and nonsense which suggests folk tales. A captive mermaid gets her wish to become a circus mermaid; Elspeth, a dragon with toothache, brings a startling change of heart to a lackadaisical young man; and a changeling child and a young witch confuse the manufacture of gold and ice-cream. As for what happened to the phoenix which came to Mrs Mack's farm and the bold sea captain who turned into a cucumber, the author had better tell you herself.' Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
