Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. Dust jacket with wear to edges with small torn area to head of spine. Covers with mild wear noted to bottom corners. Pages clean and unmarked with 276 illustrations, 90 in color. This book was published in commemoration of the thirtieth anniversary of Pasolini's death…, this book provides insight into his moral concepts and ideals through his essays, films, drawings and paintings. Among the book's many explorations is that, inherent in Pasolini's understanding of art and his world view, was the notion of violent death, which, ultimately, he may have consciously sought out in order to reconcile his life and work.

NOT Ex-Library. NO remainder marks. A good reading copy. Black and white illustrations. a detailed intellectual analysis of the death of Italian filmmaker Pier Paolo Pasolini. Zigaina, a close friend of Pasolini, theorizes that Pasolini's death was not a random murder but a premeditated and self-orchestrated act, imbued with deep symbolic meaning. The book explores how Pasolini viewed his life and works as an interconnected series of acts, culminating in his own death, which he regarded as the final expression of his artistic and intellectual journey. Zigaina interprets Pasolini's death through lenses of mythology, alchemy, and cultural rituals. He suggests that Pasolini deliberately chose the time and circumstances of his murder as a way to amplify the meaning of his entire body of work, likening it to a "death-rebirth" cycle present in various cultural myths. The book delves into Pasolini's own writings and statements that hinted at such a view, with Zigaina asserting that Pasolini's death was both a personal and a creative act meant to fulfill his artistic vision. Signed by Author.

Encuadernación de tapa blanda. Condition: Excelente. [Marisa Vescovo].
