Original wraps. Condition: Near Fine. Syd Mead (illustrator). First Edition. 7 X 10 Inches. 94 PP. Original oversized wraps as issued. First printing with complete number line to the "1" on the copyright page. While this film based upon the follow-up to Arthur C. Clarke's 2001: A Space Odyssey did not live up to the hype of being "the most eagerly awaited movie of all time" as it states on the cover, it did succeed at the box office. Mostly panned by critics and history for that matter, 2010 failed to capture the magic of the original. One of the few bright spots of the film was the early conceptual work done by noted futurist and illustrator Syd Mead. Syd famously illustrated the paperback cover of Blade Runner. He was involved in the industrial designs included in TRON, Star Wars, Short Circuit, Aliens and many more. THIS FIRST PRINTING SIGNED AND DATED ON THE FRONT COVER BY SYD MEAD. A somewhat uncommon autograph. Hint of wear to corners. Signed.
