With lists of plates and geographical information at the front and an index at the rear, pp. iv, 48, [i], 160 plates, 56. Red leather binding with gilt stamped titles and design to front board and to spine, gilt edges and marbled endpapers, bound with maps adhesively attached to meeting guards in order to allow the maps to open flat and without the centre fold being obscured. Octavo, 19 x 13 cm. Shows signs of shelfweare in bumping to corners and fading to spine, split in leather at front hinge to the top and bottom two compartments, textblock strong.

Ormond Street to Bethnal Green and Hungerford Bridge to St. Katharine's Dock. Preserved within the original reinforced blue cloth wrappers, with printed title and pasted on label 'City of London. Scale 12 inch to a mile'. A little dusty and with some hand-embellishment and annotation but a detailed and colourful map. The map was is undated but dates from after the construction of the second Blackfriars Railway Bridge (1886) and prior to the construction of Tower Bridge (completed 1894).
