Cloth in Dj. Condition: New. Dust Jacket Condition: New. oblong 4to, cloth in In his text Jiang Jiehong argues that the widespread destruction of traditional Chinese treasures by the Red Guards, especially in the early period of 1966, overshadows the entire period. Today's rebellious artistic spirit is, in fact, an extension of Mao's legacy. The extensive Saatchi collection of new Chinese art is presented in conjunction with Joshua Jiang's examination of the use of the colour red, the iconography of Mao, the sense of the collective and the use of textual language that derives from the calligraphy of the propaganda poster. This dramatic material will be published to coincide with the exhibitions at the new Saatchi Gallery. 264 pages.

Condition: As New. No Jacket. First Edition Limited/Numbered. Signed by Author Slip-Case - Hard Cover. This book is in as-new condition and it is very impressive. Salman Rushdie is one of the world's most respected author's and this wonderful novel makes it very clear that this is well deserved. The volume resides in a beautifully illustrated slipcase that is decorated with a floral type pattern both on the front and back as well as the spine. The spine is fully decorated. The original price sticker from the publisher is on the bottom of the slipcase. There are no bumped corners on either the slipcase or the book. No staining, no soiling, and the book has obviously never been read. Salman Rushdie has signed and numbered this Limited First edition directly on the limitation page. This is a true First edition and first printing and there were 1000 copies printed of which this copy is number 673. The endpapers are two separate two page works of art that are very colorful and beautiful. The textblock is pristine and the book is as tight as new. 'The Enchantress of Florence' is a blend of fantasy, fable, and reality. The plot is complicated but compelling. This is a truly fine volume and will be appreciated by anyone who loves beautiful books. We are pleased to send pictures on request.
