An ex-library copy neatly but frequently stamped by Cheltenham Public Library. Illustrated by hand coloured folding map of the Environs as frontispiece, engraved title with vignette, engraved dedication page, 6 engraved plates, including 2 folding and 15 Bewick-style wood engraved vignettes in text. An 1834 reissue of the Sixth Edition similar to Goulden 56 (which has a blue cover) with a title page re-engraved to show the date. Like the preceding Fifth Edition John Clifford (1787-1843) has returned to using the identical title page of his 1817 edition. Includes distances, fares and useful information at the end but no list of lodging houses.
