Historical account of the fire that occurred in Chelsea, Massachusetts in 1908, the events leading up to, the efforts to extinguish it, and the aftermath and its effects on the community.
First Edition. Publisher's decorated cloth; nearly fine. Chelsea, with two other nearby towns, is part of Suffolk County, which is dominated by Boston. It lies just across the Mystic River from Charlestown, and in nearly any other place would would have been absorbed by the larger city. It suffered a more recent devastating fire, and is now rapidly gentrifying. All books described as first editions are first printings unless otherwise noted.
