Nach einer kaufmännischen Lehre studierte sie 1926/27 an der ETH Zürich. 1927 bis 1929 Besuch des Bauhauses in Dessau, Vorkurs bei Josef Albers und Wassily Kandinsky. Meisterschülerin bei Paul Klee, dem sie 1931 an die Kunstakademie Düsseldorf folgte und das Studium dort abschloss. 1932 arbeitete sie bei Fernand Léger in Paris. 1933 ging sie zurück in die Schweiz). Öl auf Malpappe, von Petra Petitpierre innerhalb des Bildes links unten in Schwarz signiert, datiert (40), rückseitig ebenfalls in Schwarz signiert, datiert mit Adresse und Titel versehen.
