Offered is a first edition, first printing of "TRAGIC FOLLY - ATOM A.R.P.", an essay by Kathleen Lonsdale published in 1949 by the Peace Pledge Union out of London, England. The document measures 5-1/2" by 8-1/2" and contains four pages including front and rear covers. Dr. Lonsdale writes, in short part, "Is the world piling up a stock of atom-bombs for nothing? The fact is, that if war comes, these bombs will be used" - "It cannot be too clearly understood that in an atomic war mistakes cannot be remedied" - "The atom-bomb is a weapon of treachery; it could be planted in time of apparent peace in the hold of a ship as part of an innocent cargo and so detonated as to pin-point its target without warning." "Duplicate" stamp from Swarthmore College Peace Collection to front cover; sunning to front cover and light, general wear.

The pages and plates have varying degrees of foxing. The bottom, spine side corners of the pages have water stain, which doesn't reach the text until the last third of the pages.
