Signed by the author on the limitation page and with its own lovely, custom made slipcase. The boards are shelf rubbed and edge worn, with a few small scratches and surface damage to the front and back. Despite this, the boards remain strong and sturdy. Internally, there is some light, sporadic foxing throughout, but there are no other markings or inscriptions, and the pages within are neat and complete. The binding is secure. JK.     Hardback. Condition: Very Good -. This signed edition on English hand-made paper is limited to 310 copies, of which 250 are for sale in this country and 50 in America. This copy is numbered 264; Signed at edition description. Boards bound in vellum with gilt-debossed titling to spine and front board. Pages have moderate to heavy foxing to pages following illustrated plates, and heavy foxing to front fly leaf and last two pages. All plates and tissue guards are attached and intact with light foxing to tissue guards. Endpages have light soiling to edges. Text block has light wear, fore edge and lower edge are deckled, and top edge is sprayed gilt but is heavily tarnished. Boards are moderately to heavily soiled with heavy foxing to spine and rear board, and bumping and creasing to ends of spine and corners. Binding is tight and square. Covered in a protective clear plastic dust jacket.

    First Edition. 4 SIGNED LETTERS FROM FOUR OF THE MAJOR ILLUSTRATORS OF THEIR TIMES ALL OF WHICH APPEARED IN PARAMOUNT'S 1937 UNFORGETTABLE FILM ARTISTS AND MODELS being a 175 word TYPED LETTER SIGNED by Rube Goldberg hyping his desire to get his friend and fellow artist Bruce Barton elected to Congress; a 75 holographic letter SIGNED by John La Gatta to author Caroline Mytinger commentating on her book and remembering the time he used her as a model; an 80 word TYPED LETTER SIGNED to fellow illustrator John La Gatta by Arthur William Brown asking him if he could put off for a week his duties as a fashion show judge; a 90 word TYPED LETTER SIGNED by Russell Patterson to long time friend Don Dickerman of Pirate Restaurant fame commenting on his, Dickerman's, ability to still be able to build things, that he, Patterson, still has trouble getting around but finds time to still paint, acknowledges news about John La Gatta stating that he will write him, etc. A nice little grouping most suitable for framing individually or as a lot with perhaps a stlll from the film.

In the original publisher's vellum binding, in the original slipcase. Externally, smart. A couple of very light spots to the boards, as is usual with vellum. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with scattered spots to the first and last few pages. Slipcase is a little worn, with a small amount of loss to the spine. Light age-toning and marks to the slipcase.
