Paperback. Condition: Sehr gut. Gebraucht - Sehr gut Leichte Lagerspuren -Die öffentliche Bibliothek Isontina entstand aus der Buchsammlung des Jesuitenkollegs (1629-1773). Nach Aufhebung des Jesuitenordens durch Kaiserin Maria Theresa gelangte die Sammlung an den heutigen Standort, damals (1780-1810) im Besitz der Piaristen. Na…chdem der Bau während der französischen Besatzung 1810 großen Schaden erlitten hatte, wurde er 1822, nach Wiederherstellung des Habsburgerregimes, zu einer der sechs Universitätsbibliotheken Österreichs ausgebaut, 1825 wurde die Sammlung als Bezirksbibliothek der österreichischen Küstenregion der Öffentlichkeit zugänglich gemacht. Zu Beginn des ersten Weltkrieges wurden Teile der Sammlung in Graz in Sicherheit gebracht, der in Görz verbleibende Teil wurde zerstört oder beschädigt. Unter italienischer Besatzung wurden die verbleibenden Bände zur Reparatur in die Biblioteca Laureziana nach Florenz gebracht, von wo sie 1925, nach Gründung der Staatsbibliothek Gorizia, an den alten Standort zurückkehrten. Trotz weiterer schwerer Verluste durch deutsche und jugoslawische Besetzung sowie durch die anglo-amerikanische Befreiung überlebte die Sammlung und führt seit 1967 den heutigen Namen Isontina. Die öffentliche Bibliothek hält einen Bestand von über 400.000 Bänden. Dieser Katalog legt zum ersten Mal eine Rekonstruktion der kompletten Sammlung (1.271 Titel) des von Kaiser Ferdinand II, selbst von Jesuiten erzogen und tiefreligiös, gegründeten Jesuitenkollegs vor, das als Gymnasium fungierte und Hochschulkurse in Philosophie anbot. Dergleichen Kollegien gab es mehrere in der österreichischen Provinz, Theologie hingegen konnte man nur in Graz oder Wien studieren. Die Lehrer dieser Kollegien rotierten und wurden oft an entfernte Einrichtungen gesandt, sie kamen also von überall her und mußten deshalb verschiedene Sprachen beherrschen. Gelehrt wurde in lateinischer Sprache, gesprochen wurde deutsch. Weil aber auch das Predigen zu den Aufgaben der Lehrer gehörte, mußten die lokalen Sprachen ebenso erlernt werden, darunter ungarisch, slowakisch, kroatisch und italienisch. Unter den im Katalog verzeichneten Büchern haben etliche Bibliotheksstempel aus Triest, Rijeka, Ljubljana, Zagreb, Klagenfurt, Graz, Wien, Krems, Buda, Passau und Hildesheim; Bücher, die wahrscheinlich von den Lehrern mitgebracht worden waren. Es ist die multikulturelle Reichhaltigkeit, die diese Sammlung von anderen, mitunter größeren oder wertvolleren Jesutitensammlungen anderer Bibliotheken unterscheidet. Auch die Vielfalt der Einbände und Vorbesitzernamen spiegeln den Multikulturalismus des Kollegs und seiner Sammlung wider. 2508 pp. Französisch, Deutsch, Italienisch, Latein.
