Condition: Good. this is an English 1960 edition of the Nonsense Songs of Edward Lear , this copy being bound in a unique and very attractive designer full leather binding, bound in red and black leather, with various pieces of shaped leather laid down in different shades of green, along with gold leather straps laid down on the dividing lines of the two colour leathers to the boards. The spine back has been left open apart from three black leather straps, the text block has been resewn with coloured threads, the individual gatherings being left slightly apart from each other so you can see daylight between each gathering when the book is opened, the page edges have been coloured with lines to match the coloured thread used for sewing and fitted with floral endpapers. 7.5 inches tall approx, the binding is not signed, but is of a very nice quality. Apart from some minor marks the binding is in very good condition, internally contents nice and clean A BEAUTIFULLY BOUND EXAMPLE OF EDWARD LEAR'S NONSENSE SONGS BOUND IN A UNIQUE DESIGNER LEATHER BINDING.
