Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. This book is one of a kind! It is signed by Sir Elton John, Jon Bon Jovi, Patricia Arquette, Jeri Hall and Courtney Love. It is also the only one online of this title, that is signed and dated by Avedon. This book is accompanied with a letter of provenance by the previous owner. The letter explains how and where the signatures were collected. From the letter: ż.I acquired this collectible Random House first edition in 1998from the Micawber Bookstore in Princeton, NJ, where I lived for 25 years until recently relocating to central Indiana. It was signed in my presence by the author, acclaimed photographer, Richard Avedon, in 1999at a gallery showing at NYC's Metropolitan Museum of Arts. The two signatures within (actually there are three ; seller) were obtained at pre_performance press conferences by Sir Elton prior to his concert with Billy Joel in Tampa, Florida, 2002, and at the Indianapolis Conseco Fieldhouse, 2003. Jon Bon Jovi signed the book once at a press conference to announce his purchase of the AFL team, the Philly Soul, in Philadelphia, and in 2003, at a charity performance held in Red Bank, NJ. Signatures of Courtney Love, Patricia Aquette, and Jerry Hall were each acquired by a long time associate, prominent politician and fund raiser- and Democratic speaker of the assembly ż Alan Karcher, at a fundraising event in Manhattan. Mr. Karcher, formerly of Princeton and Sayreville, NJ, introduced me to Jon Bon Jovi in the late 80's. Alan Karcher was a long time family friend and neighbor of Bon Jovi's parentsJohn and Carol Bongiovi, also from Sayreville, NJ. I have worked as a publicist, journalist and editor for 30 years and have collected signed and autographed firsts.ż . The letter of provenance is signed and dated 14 October, 2003. Condition is near fine; There are faded dents on top of three pages in the middle of the book. Signed by Author(s).
