Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. xxi+516pp. 1st UK Edition. Flat signed by the author to the title page. Accompanied by a photograph of King at a book signing event, at Borders Books and Music, Oxford Street, London on 22 August 1998 - attendees can be seen carrying Borders bookshop bags with copies of the book displayed behind the author and on the signing table. King can be seen signing the current copy. Borders price sticker to the back panel of the dust jacket further confirms this provenance. Due to his immense popularity, the increasing value of signed items and King's refusal to sign books mailed in to him, his signature is often forged - the current copy, then, is particularly desirable with unusually good provenance confirming the authenticity of the signature. Very Good - Some tide marks to the head and tail of the lower board, jacket verso and front panel recto, mild rippling to the final 15 leaves, light shelfwear, minor chips to the foot of the spine. A touch of foxing to the prelims and edges. Binding tight and square. Overall handsome and desirable despite some minor faults. Signed by Author(s).

Condition: Near fine in near fine jacket. First edition. Inscribed first printing of King's middle-career masterpiece, winner of the Bram Stoker Award, the British Fantasy Award, and the Locus Award. BAG OF BONES, King's first novel published by Scribner after leaving Viking, marked the beginning of a new period of productivity and critical acclaim for an author who had long been classed as a mere crowd-pleaser. Packed with allusions to high-, low-, and middle-brow culture Melville and Tales From the Crypt, Du Maurier and Guns N' Roses and starring a Maine novelist with writer's block, BAG OF BONES is both an absorbing novel and an ostentatious demonstration of self-awareness by a writer making clear that he knows what he's doing. After more than 20 years and over 30 books, Elizabeth Hand wrote, "Stephen King has finally arrived as an author to be taken seriously." 9'' x 6''. Original quarter white cloth with pumpkin boards and copper spine lettering. In original unclipped ($28.00) dust jacket. 529, [3] pages. Inscribed by King on title page: "For Roger / Stephen King." Original admission ticket to a 1998 "Meet the Master of Horror" book signing at the Magicopolis Theater in Santa Monica laid in, along with printed venue card. Contemporary price sticker on rear panel. Faint edgewear, a few spots of soil. Book with only minor shelfwear.
