The legendary ballyhoo man started with the Pawnee Bill Show at age 23, then joined the Buffalo Bill Wild West Show, then moved on to the Ringling Brothers Circus, then P.T. Barnum's Greatest Show on Earth; and when Ringling and Barnum merged, he stayed on. This is his story; 40 years in the circus business, from the 1890's to 1936, the year he published his circus memoir. A cult classic; signed twice, and dated, in the year of publication; just one year before the greatest ballyhoo man on earth, would join the Big Top in the sky; in 1937. His papers and circus memorabilia collection is now at the University of Tulsa's McFarlin Library, Henneke Archives of Performing Arts.
