Laid in the book is Russell's 4 pp. typed ms. titled "Ben Hur Lampman" that is a chapter in Dark Waters; the ms. has ink corrections in Russell's hand. Chatham ms. material is rarely encountered. Mr. Lampman was the author of several books on fishing and the Northwest; he was also an editor at the Portland Oregonian for many years. Illustrated by the author. Foreword by Nick Lyons. With a tipped-in color print showing a Silver Salmon illustrated by Chatham on the title page. Compelling stories by a master writer, with an especially sensitive piece on Roderick Haig-Brown.
