Hardcover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. (Ref. E5) 15 colour plates. Full red leather embossed covers. Gilt lettering and decoration. Marbled endpapers and edges. Top edge darkened. Foredge a little darkened and rubbed. Rubbing to board edges, spine hinges, head and heel. Slight scuffing to surfaces. Small tear to top left corner of ffep. Owner's inscription, name in black ink to top of both frontpapers. Slightly tanned page edges. A couple of fox traces. Tightly bound. A few very small marks but generally very good and unmarked contents.

pp.hand-col. frontis, viii, 260 plus a further 14 fine hand-col. plates (one being double-page). Crown 8vo. Some foxing to one section of text, o/w. contents beautifully clean and in fine condition. More recently rebound in red cloth (dated 1968) to mimic original binding. A lovely copy. A very charming work, beautifully illustrated with fine hand-coloured botanic plates. Each chapter is written in the style of letters from a teacher, or lecturer. Each letter is highly informative and very much of the period. A real joy to peruse.

First Edition. Collation, viii+260pp, 16 hand colured plates. Bound in contemporary half calf, calf corners, marble boards, flat gilt decorative bands, red title label. Calf rubbed, head of spine worn with loss, short split on hinge joint. Generally binding in good condition. Internally, contemporary of early gift inscription on top margin of title pages, one engraved plate working loose. Pages and hand coloured plates in good clean condition. A3 Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
