Cloth. Condition: Good. First Edition. Well illustrated with 50 colour plates, large quarto, pp viii, 109, top edge gilt, other edges untrimmed, very clean internally, red cloth, gilt decoration, faded at the top corner of the front cover and in several places on the spine, a very small dimple pressure point; the head and tail of the spine also a little pcreased. [From the library of the naturalist and conservationist Richard Fitter with his stamp on the front endpaper; A very pleasamt association copy, as the author was Fitter's headmaster at Eastbourne College and their is a prize label for Fitter on the endpaper, signed by E.C. Arnold.]. Signed by Author.

Foxing to blank verso of some plates and occasionally to tissue guards. Vg. Limited edition of 50 signed and numbered copies, with a small (54x110mm) original watercolour sketch by the author pasted in below the limitation statement. This copy No. 45.
