The de luxe issue comprising: (1) the second edition of Carter & Pollard's famous exposé of T J Wise, with (2) Collins & Barker's sequel covering the results of almost 50 years' further research, and (3) an original edition of Browning's pamphlet 'Two Poems' with (4) a commentary on that pamphlet, explaining its use as a model for the forgery of 'The Runaway Slave'. Set No. 29: a presentation copy with the half-title of the Sequel volume signed and inscribed by Nicolas Barker to Stuart Schimmel, the collector of literary forgery material ("this squalid and disreputable tale.") - inscription dated 14.10.04. Fine set in slipcase as issued.
