El término "bardaje", heredado del habla lunfarda y del ambiente tanguero, remite al vagabundeo nocturno, a la deriva por bares, calles y madrugadas porteñas. Esa atmósfera constituye el núcleo del libro. Mare reconstruye en sus poemas el mundo de los cafés, las esquinas míticas, los boliches de trasnoche y las conversaciones atravesadas por la música del tango y la melancolía de la ciudad.
