Original cloth backed boards, lettering on the spine a little dull but a good clean copy. Book plate of A G Skinner. A scarce tribute to an officer killed in France December 1915. The volume largely consists of letters home from Captain Lusk to his mother, a tribute is also contributed by Lieut - Colonel T Martin Kay, Commanding Officer of the 6th Cameronians.

Pp.[xiv],168. 23 portraits of officers from drawings by Herbert J. Gunn. 3 other illustrations. The Battalion fought with the 15th Scottish Division on the Western Front including Loos, Somme, Arras, third battle of Ypres etc. Scarce.

Well wriitten with a detailed and personal knowledge of the Battalion. Its first action at Loos resulted in very heavy losses and on the Somme in August Martinpuuich was successfully taken, though again there was a price to pay. Other engagements followed. 168pp.,list of Officers who served in France with fates, honours and awards, 23 portraits by Herbert Gunn who served in the unit. Modest ex-library with numbers to spine and a few stamps, Original green cloth a little rubbed and gilt titling to spine a little faint. Overall a good+ copy.

Original publisher's quarter green cloth - gilt embossed to the spine with tartan covered boards with paper title onlays. Leading and lower edges rough-cut. A memoir of a Cameronian officer who fell in the great war as a very young man by his father - Doctor from Rothesay, which includes a number of letters written and sent from the front. A little spotting to the fore-edges and slight spotting to the endpapers and some other scattered light spotting. 4 illustrative plates as called for.
