Pasted on the fep is a card with a woodcut image on it entitle "Saguenay River" and signed in pencil by the illustrator Freda Bone. Although a library copy, it was never circulated. Contents are clean throughout. Book is square and binding is tight. Cover has some light soiling. Signed by Author(s).

Bone was one of the last generation to work on 'square sail' merchant ships and had first hand experience of these songs being used to help with the hard work. The author has doodled a bar of music on the front free endpaper and added the message 'Done by David W. Bone'. Book is clean, sound and presentable.
