After a series of successful performances in New York City, he decided to stay there. He established a name for himself in vaudeville in the 1920s and toured the United States before moving to Hollywood in the early 1930s.

Rare graphite artist's sketch of classic Hollywood actor Cary Grant. Boldly signed by Cary Grant below his portrait. Additionally signed by the artist, P.B. Socci. Active in the mid 1970s, American artist Pat B. Socci gained a reputation for seeking out Hollywood icons to sign his sketched portraits. The drawing measures 8.75 inches by 11.5 inches. A unique example. English-American actor Cary Grant became one of the definitive leading men of Hollywood in the 1940s; known for his debonair demeanor, light-hearted approach to acting, and sense of comic timing. In the 40s and 50s, Grant developed a working relationship with director Alfred Hitchcock, appearing in a number of his films including To Catch a Thief (1955) and North by Northwest (1959). Grant was married five times and became one of the wealthiest stars in Hollywood, owning houses in Beverly Hills, Malibu, and Palm Springs.
