NOT ex-library. Hardcover has brown cloth-covered boards with gold spine lettering and black cover decorations. Black coated endpapers. Tissued frontispiece is pasted-in photographic print. Tissue guard and photo lightly foxed. Name in ink on first blank page after endpaper, dated 1876. Binding cracked inside, with two signatures loose at the top, but still sewn in at bottom and partially in middle. Front hinge partially cracked with just the paper split in spots, but still strong, with no webbing showing. Corners and spine ends bumped and rubbed, with some fraying at tips and spine ends. One inch of cloth worn through at the top of the outer front joint. Pages very lightly and uniformly tanned but still supple. Pages clean and unmarked. 468 pages. At head of title: "In Memoriam". No dust jacket. Carefully packed, shipped in a box. This item will be shipped with signature confirmation required.
