Book has a forward lean. Boards are bowed.

OGLE, dj is grubby, worn and chipped on the edges, a few tears, some old tape marks on the reverse, book is bound in illustrated cloth, top of spine bumped and discoloured, corners also a little bumped, inscription on half title, foredge and some internal foxing and other marks, frontispiece is almost loose, still g. 8vo, 160pp. Mr Tawney (who is not as old as the 'Mr' would suggest), rescues a bumble-bee and is invited to their nest for a banquet where he is shrunk to about half an inch high.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Fair. A clean and crisp hardback reprint (published in the same month and year as the first impression) in a lightly shelf worn dust jacket. There is the shadow of a an old pencilled price and code at the top of the front free endpaper, but the boards are clean and sharp and overall this is a nice hardback copy. The dust jacket is clean but in fair condition only: it is a little creased and chipped at the extremities, with a small area of loss at the head and tail of the spine. It has also been price-clipped at the bottom of its front inside flap, and the remnants of a small price sticker remain next to the snip. The binding is secure and the contents are clean and fresh. Overall, a nice early reprint in a slightly shelf worn jacket. This item will be properly packed.
