John Murray, founded in 1768, is a Scottish publisher, owned by the Murray family until 2002, is known for the authors it has published in its long history, including Jane Austen, Arthur Conan Doyle, Lord Byron, Charles Lyell, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Herman Melville, Thomas Robert Malthus, David Ricardo, and Charles Darwin. This slim volume is a collection of witticisms, quotes, proverbs, etc. collected by John "Jock" Murray IV (1909-1993) and published by his son John Murray V. It is fine in white cloth with gilt titles on the spine. No marks or damage. The unclipped DJ is also excellent. It is inscribed by the author on the half title page. It also has a publisher's presentation slip laid inside the front cover. CH22. Signed.
