Reliure modeste et un peu frottée sur les bords, sans gravité ; très pr…opre intérieurement. Maurice Pottecher fonda le Théâtre du Peuple en 1895. Jusqu'à sa mort en 1960, il dirigea, à Bussang (Vosges), cette fameuse salle de théâtre construite en bois et ouverte sur la nature, utopie concrète de théâtre populaire. Le Théâtre du Peuple de Bussang est encore en activité de nos jours. Maurice Pottecher rencontra Paul Claudel en 1890 par l'entremise de Léon Daudet. Les deux hommes furent de très proches amis et échangèrent une riche correspondance de 1892 à 1946 - correspondance publiée chez Gallimard en 1959.
