Plastic comb bound, original covers, 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches, index, 66 pp, SIGNED by author. Paperback, fair. Four cracks on the comb, lower third of front cover pulling loose from it, 1 inch tear off lower corner of front cover, soiled. Internally, tan stain on most of the inside front cover and adjoining leaves, gradually disappears, some foxing, drop marks and dogears, first leaf detached, otherwise clean and unmarked. Per preface, a collection of time tested recipes by the author and several friends, giving lists of ingredients, measurements, directions, times and temperatures. Heirloom type, from scratch cooking, mainly for desserts, with a section on luncheon and casserole dishes, and another on salads. Incudes baked beef tongue with vegetables, baked fruit ice cream, peanut brittle ice cream, plain molasses cake, raisin frosting, malt salad dressing and others which provide an interesting culinary glimpse into a vanished era.
