EDITION ORIGINALE publiée à l'initiative d'Armand Salacrou, illustrée en frontispice d'une EAU-FORTE originale d'André MASSON. Tirage à 113 exemplaires, celui-ci de passe sur Madagascar comme le numéro un, comportant en frontispice la gravure de MASSON et portant sur le faux titre un ENVOI autographe signé de Desnos à Lili et Guy Decomble : « Les orages, les marées et les vente de tempêtes peuvent passer on se retrouve toujours au bébé au copain bien affectueusement ».---- Robert Desnos fit la connaissance d'Armand Salacrou juste après la première guerre mondiale. Si les deux hommes n'accrochent pas tout de suite - Desnos le jugera vain et prétentieux - ils se retrouvent au début des années vingt avec Georges Limbour dans l'atelier d'André Masson, qui bientôt les invitera aux dimanches de Boulogne organisés par Daniel Henry Kahnweiler. Le galeriste prendra sous son aile ces jeunes poètes, publiant en 1924 LE CASSEUR D'ASSIETTES de Salacrou, son premier livre, illustré par Juan Gris et en 1926 C'EST LES BOTTES DE 7 LIEUES de Desnos, illustré d'eaux-fortes de Masson. Par la suite, Desnos et Salacrou travaillent ensemble à l'élaboration de publicités radiophoniques pour lesquelles le poète se montre très inspiré. Ces aventures à la T.S.F. les rapprochent davantage, et Salacrou entreprend alors de financer le dernier livre de Desnos LES SANS COU, qu'il publie confidentiellement sans nom d'éditeur. Pour la maquette de l'ouvrage, Salacrou s'inspire des publications de la galerie Simon, utilisant le format, la même typographie et une justification très proche, sortant ainsi un "Kahnweiler bis" dont Desnos fut fort satisfait. « Laisse-moi te redire combien je te suis reconnaissant pour Les Sans cou qui ne vont pas tarder à sortir la tête écrit-il à son ami le 11 mai 1934, Eh ! nous allons sur nos dix-sept ans d'amitié. A cet âge l'amitié est un grand jeune homme, l'âge ingrat est passé, et sans lui la vie, pour moi du moins, serait fatalement emmerdante ». Dans ce cercle d'amis Desnos comptait également l'acteur Guy Decomble, à qui il dédicace son livre en choisissant un exemplaire particulier. Si la justification annonce que le numéro 1 sur Madagascar est réservé à Salacrou, on sait que le poète numérota un 1 bis qu'il offrit à sa femme Youki (Vente Filipacchi 2005). Ce troisième exemplaire sur Madagascar dédicacé à Guy Decomble semble donc être le 1 ter, sous-entendant une attention particulière au comédien. Desnos fit la connaissance de Decomble dans le groupe théâtral Octobre, créé en avril 1932. Tous se réunissaient autour des frères Prévert au Café de Flore à Saint-Germain, ou au théâtre pour assister aux spectacles de Jean-Louis Barrault dans lesquels le comédien jouait. Guy Decomble et sa femme Lili font alors partie des intimes qui ont toujours porte ouverte chez les Desnos qu'ils fréquenteront jusqu'à la disparition du poète. Outre son activité théâtrale Guy Decomble tourna avant-guerre dans de nombreux films comme L'AFFAIRE EST DANS LE SAC de Pierre Prévert, LE CRIME DE MONSIEUR LANGE de Jean Renoir, DROLE DE DRAME de Marcel Carné, LE TEMPS DES CERISES de Jean-Paul Le Chanois ou LA BETE HUMAINE de Jean Renoir. Il joua ensuite sous la direction de Chabrol, Truffaut, Melville, Delannoy entre-autres jusqu'à sa disparition en août 1964. Dédicacé par l'auteur.
